How To Transition Your Wardrobe Into Spring

How To Transition Your Wardrobe Into Spring

2020 Jul 20th

It’s that in-between time of year when the temperature is just beginning to rise, the sun is starting to peek out, and it’s too warm for a winter coat. If you’re like us, you’re itching to ditch your heavy clothes and are getting excited about spring fashion. Here are some of our top tips on how to transition your wardrobe to spring:

Incorporate Lighter Colours

An easy way to inject some life into your winter wardrobe is to wear lighter colours. Instead of black, browns, or reds, opt for light-coloured, pastel, shirts and sweaters. These colours will not only look more spring-like, they will also help to brighten up and flatter your skin-tone.

Mix ‘N Match

To slowly transition your wardrobe, mix and match items from both seasons to stay comfortable and look chic. Try pairing chunky knit sweaters with long skirts, or wearing dresses with leggings. If you’re not ready to part with your pants just yet, try switching to capris and wear peep-toe shoes instead of heavy boots.

Put Away Your Parka

It’s time to dry-clean your down-filled parkas and store them for next year. Once they are tucked away, grab a jean jacket, raincoat, or vest when you’re leaving the house. We have some new styles in store that are perfect for spring!

Accessorize

Don’t forget the impact that accessories can have! A light floral scarf can add just the right amount of warmth and colour to any transitional outfit. So can jewellery and the right shoes.

Dress up any outfit with a long necklace or some pretty bangles, now that they won’t be hidden underneath your coat!

Switching to an open-toed shoe or sandal once the snow has cleared will definitely inject spring vibes into your outfit.

Last but not least are lipstick and nail polish. There’s nothing like a fresh pedicure to get your toes in tip-top shape after being crammed into socks and boots all winter.

Finally, in the words of Coco Chanel, “If you’re sad, add more lipstick and attack.” True words to live by, in our opinion!
